The Government has launched a call for evidence of best practice in communities to support a new mental health strategy for England focused on prevention.
The LGA backs this preventative focus, and Cllr Dr Wendy Taylor MBE, Chair of the LGA’s Health and Wellbeing Committee, said: “Councils hold a crucial role in the delivery of local mental health services, working with the NHS and voluntary and community services. We look forward to working with government to ensure this local leadership is reflected in the strategy to ensure people are best supported to live full and healthy lives.” The call for evidence closes on 10 July.
